A wiki is a webpage that allows visitors to be able to edit the information in it without actually having to register. It doesn’t require for the user to know HTML.Wikipedia is an accurate professional encyclopedia because no matter what you do your never going to find a source of information without bias.It is just impossible.Even in its smallest trace there is bias in any encyclopedia. There is no way for a human to compile an encyclopedia without supporting one side or the other. In wikipedia users may come and both sides of the information may be presented, however some less decent users delete the side they don’t support and just add theirs. For the most part wikipedia has a lot of information to offer and most of it is right. Most users are honest and some just want to contribute and speak their hearts out by creating new wiki topics and other things. How can a person tell if a person is bias without he himself being bias?In my opinion, its not possible.I just think people should just appreciate wikipedia because it really helps students and teachers gather information. In wikipedia you can lookup anything about anything because people make pages on things other people are interesting in.People may claim wikipedia has a lot of biased information but any other encyclopedia may be too.How do they know it is biased?how do they know the other source isn’t the one that is biased?Wikipedia is just a great free web service and it may not be the most accurate some times but it lets people express their side, opinion, and ideas.Whoever complains about wikipedia is just whining with no reason because it is not doing harm just helping a lot of people when looking for information about anything.I think in the future wikipedia will be to encyclopedias what google is to search engines.
